The 7th AIPLA Women in IP Law Committee Global Networking Event 2025, hosted by LexOrbis on April 4 in Pune, reignited conversations on the theme “Innovation and Collaboration.” This event featured an inspiring panel of women leaders who shared insights on shaping the future of innovation and intellectual property through collaboration.
Ms. Bhuvaneswari Mohanraj discussed the synergy between R&D and IP, emphasising how cross-industry partnerships can drive breakthrough progress. Dr. Niti Dewan encouraged women to embrace technology and leverage AI to stay ahead in the evolving IP landscape.
Reflecting on her visit to DRDO, Dr. Nitin Shukla highlighted the vital role of women in defence innovations and the necessity for collaboration in development and testing. Ms. Rupali Pawar addressed the gender gap in IP, urging more women to file patents and seek recognition in innovation leadership.
Dr. Shweta Uttam stressed the importance of women supporting each other, promoting entrepreneurship, and fostering inclusive spaces. Ms. Smita Raktawan celebrated TCS’s achievement of over 4,000 patents, noting that over 60% of its IP team comprises women, and called for breaking down leadership barriers.
The discussions fostered an atmosphere of connection, collaboration, and empowerment, inspiring participants to uplift one another and drive transformative change in their fields.
