The CII Global Innovation & Intellectual Property Summit, held on April 23-24, 2024, in New Delhi, focused on the theme ‘Building the Synergy among Innovation, IP, and SDGs for Futuristic Growth.’ The summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators to explore the critical role of innovation and intellectual property in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs).Key discussions spanned topics such as leveraging innovation and IP for India’s journey to becoming a Top 25 Innovation Nation, fostering R&D investments for social and economic impact, driving disruptive technologies for Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0, and addressing counterfeiting and piracy to ensure economic sustainability. Sessions also spotlighted the value of Geographical Indications (GIs) through real-world case studies, IP policy imperatives for states, and fostering inclusion and diversity to nurture a new generation of innovators.
