The significance of robust data privacy and protection mechanisms for organisations has intensified in recent times, especially with the announcement of the draft Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules. On these lines, the DSCI Data Protection Summit 2025 was held on February 21, 2025, in Mumbai, convening experts and practitioners in the field of data privacy to explore India’s evolving privacy landscape. The summit featured discussions on key topics such as DPDP implementation, building robust privacy programs, privacy-by-design strategies, managing SDF mandates, PETs, the role of Generative AI in privacy, and technologies to accelerate privacy adoption. Furthermore, the event included workshops focused on the implementation of privacy measures, data utilisation with the aid of PETs, and the design of effective consent mechanisms.
