The National IP Yatra 2025, a flagship initiative organised by ASSOCHAM with the support of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. Held across four cities, this initiative aimed to enhance awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) among MSMEs and promote innovation-driven growth. The Yatra focused on increasing IP filings by MSMEs, building synergies with state schemes and private institutions, showcasing government support through IP Facilitation Centres (IPFCs), and guiding participants through the processes of filing, acquiring, and commercialising IP assets.
LexOrbis experts actively contributed to the National IP Yatra 2025 sessions, offering valuable insights into IPR protection and enforcement tailored for MSMEs and start-ups. At the #Bhubaneswar session held on March 17–18, Avi Garg addressed the importance of intellectual property as a strategic business tool. He elaborated on how IP can drive growth and innovation and also discussed various central and state government schemes designed to promote IP awareness and facilitate filings.
The #Chandigarh leg of the Yatra, held on March 20–21, featured Gaurav Arora, who highlighted the increasing awareness and enthusiasm around IP, as well as the government’s financial and legal support mechanisms, including reimbursement schemes for IP filing and registration.
On March 24–25 in #Ranchi, Shikha Singh led a session titled “Exploiting IP Portfolio to Become a Champion.” She emphasised that IP when strategically managed, serves not just as a shield of legal protection but as a powerful catalyst for innovation, competitive advantage, and sustained business growth.
At the final leg of the National IP Yatra 2025 in #Varanasi on March 27–28, Preeti Tyagi spoke on “IP Strategies for Startups and MSMEs,” focusing on using patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs to gain a competitive edge and attract investment. She highlighted government schemes like the IPR Scheme for fee reductions and support.
