CIPAM IPR Awareness Program

CIPAM IPR Awareness Program
As new technologies and legal frameworks emerge, staying updated and informed is crucial. Intellectual property is an ever-changing ecosystem, and only those who are committed to continuous education can remain at the forefront of innovation and protection.
In this context, the Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), DPIIT organised an advanced level IPR Awareness Program in collaboration with the Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering, Department of Mathematics, Bangalore, from August 27-29, 2024. The program aimed at enhancing the understanding of IPR among students and faculty, empowering them with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of intellectual property in their respective fields.
The event featured valuable sessions from team LexOrbis, including Dr. Shivani Shrivastava, who presented sessions on “Overview of IPR in Academia” and “IP Ownership and Rights.” Her interaction with faculty and students from the Mathematics, MCA, and IEDC departments emphasised the critical role IPR plays in academia, nurturing an engaging environment for discussion and reflection.
Additionally, Suraj Varghese delivered an insightful session on “Commercialisation of IP,” focusing on how intellectual property can be transformed into tangible, market-ready solutions. His session emphasised the importance of understanding the commercial potential of ideas and innovations.
