WIPO-IPO Roving SeminarThe WIPO-IPO Roving Seminar, organised by CGPDTM in collaboration with WIPO, aimed to enhance awareness of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and the Madrid System. These international filing systems offer a streamlined, cost-effective approach for securing global patents and trademarks.

The seminar featured expert insights on international IP protection, live demonstrations of electronic filing tools, and discussions on global IP strategies. Key topics included an overview of the PCT system, updates on ePCT filing, and the Indian Patent Office’s role as a PCT Receiving Office and ISA/IPEA. The Madrid System discussions covered the benefits of international trademark registration, the filing process in India, and an industry panel discussion on challenges and best practices.

The LexOrbis team actively participated in the seminar across five key locations.

On March 5, 2025, Dr Shivani Srivastava, Suraj Varghese, Sumita Das Gupta, Santripti Khandai, Meenakshi Chotia, and Ashmitha S. attended the Bengaluru session, which covered essential topics such as global IP strategies, electronic filing, and international trademark registration. This session was organised in association with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI).

On March 7, 2025, Siddharth Pandey and Shilpa Priyadarsini represented LexOrbis at the Mumbai seminar, engaging in insightful discussions on how businesses can leverage international IP systems for expansion. This session was held in collaboration with The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

On March 10, 2025, Satya Pavan and Vikas Bheemanadhuni participated in the Hyderabad session, which focused on the role of IP protection in fostering innovation-driven industries. This session was organised in association with MCRHDI/PHARMEXCIL.

On March 12, 2025, Neha Ramani attended the Ahmedabad seminar, where she gained valuable insights into optimising global IP filings for startups and enterprises. This session was conducted in partnership with the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA).

On March 13, 2025, Manisha Singh, Ishan Arora, and Malyashree Sridharan attended the seminar at IIT Delhi. Notably, Malyashree Sridharan participated as a panellist, offering her expertise on the advantages, best practices, and challenges of using the Madrid System. This session was held in collaboration with ASSOCHAM.
